BOOKINGS AND AVAILABILITY

The easiest way to sign up for a class is to book online.
You cannot pay for classes in instalments; you must pay the full course fee in advance.

Our courses are attended by adults of all ages and nationalities, from beginners upwards. In most courses, the average age is between 20 and 40, although many younger and older students also join our school.

Sólo para principiantes (A1): No permitimos que ningún alumno se incorpore al curso, una vez este ya haya empezado.
For beginners only (A1): We do not allow any students to join the course once it has already started.
For all other levels (A2–C1): Yes, if there is space on the course, we can accept bookings from students who wish to join the class once the course has started; however, there will be no discount on the price. Please ring us to check availability.

Send us an email or a WhatsApp message, or give us a call, and we’ll let you know about the availability of the course you’re interested in.

Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 10. Beginners’ courses are often at full capacity and fill up quickly.
We require a minimum of 4 students to run a group course.
In the unlikely event that the minimum number is not reached, we may postpone the course start date or merge your course with another.
For further information, please refer to point 1 of our general terms and conditions.

The sooner the better, as this ensures we have the correct number. If we do not have the minimum number of students for the courses, we may have to cancel the course, in which case the course you were interested in may be removed from the website.

An email confirming your booking and payment will be sent automatically to the email address you provided at the time of booking.

Both the Christmas holidays and national and local public holidays are published on our website at the start of each year. The centre will be closed on these days, and no compensation will be provided for them.

Private lessons must be paid for at least 7 calendar days before they begin.
Please also read our terms and conditions for private lessons.

COURSE INFORMATION

The language of study (Spanish) is used as much as possible during classes, starting from the very first session for beginners. This helps students get accustomed to the sounds of the language and enhances their learning. While special emphasis is placed on the spoken language, our courses cover all aspects—listening comprehension, reading, writing, and speaking—along with grammar and vocabulary.

There are several ways to determine your level. First, we recommend taking our online placement test. This will help you determine which course is best suited to your needs. Simply answer as many questions as possible and submit them. The results will indicate your level (beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, etc.).
Important note: this test is for guidance purposes only. It gives both you and us an idea of your grasp of grammar, but it does not reflect your speaking skills. For a comprehensive assessment, we will conduct an oral test via video call or on the first day of class.
We recommend that students review our course content and objectives for each level; this should help you select the best option based on your current knowledge and previous studies. Another useful tip is to consult the guide for the relevant language level, as it provides a rough indication of how the levels align with international standards.

Our fully qualified teachers are native speakers.

The most effective way to learn or improve a language skill is through immersion in the target language; even complex explanations regarding grammar or vocabulary are typically provided in Spanish. Rest assured that we will have no trouble making ourselves understood, even by students with little or no knowledge of Spanish.

Yes, you can receive a course completion certificate confirming the number of hours you studied at the school, the course you took, and the level you achieved.

Students must attend all scheduled classes regularly and call or notify the school in the event of absence or lateness. 75% attendance is required to be eligible for any of the certificates.

If a student misses 15 consecutive days of class, the school will not issue a refund, and the course will be cancelled. Even if the absence was justified, communicated well in advance, and properly reported (via email or WhatsApp), the school does not guarantee that the student can be placed back in the same group and/or level they were in prior to their absence.
It is the student’s responsibility to notify the school of their exact return date at least 5 days in advance. To avoid disrupting or negatively affecting the progress of students who attend class regularly, any student who fails to give notice of their return risks finding no available spots in any of the groups currently running; they will not be able to rejoin classes until the school confirms a possible placement.

You will have formal assignments for each class or session; however—especially with a 20-hour intensive course—we would recommend that you invest an additional 15 minutes a day in self-study.

If, after the first class, the course content seems too easy or too difficult, you can switch courses. Speak to your teacher and contact us; we will review the situation and try to move you to a class better suited to your level.

You can send us an email to find out what was covered in the class you missed and what the homework is.

Please let us know so that we can advise your teacher.

If your teacher is ill during the course, we will arrange for a substitute teacher to take over your class. Otherwise, we will postpone the class and extend the duration of the course.

The first book is included in the enrollment fee, but only for the 20-hour intensive course.

If you enroll in one of our intensive courses consisting of 20 classes per week, you can apply for a student visa. We will advise you on the visa application process. Once you have registered for one of our intensive courses, we will send you a “letter of invitation,” which you can use to document the purpose of your stay in Spain. However, please note that enrollment in a course does not guarantee that the embassy will grant you a student visa. For further information, we recommend contacting the Spanish embassy in your home country.

At Vive SPANISH, we expect our students to…
➢ take some responsibility for their own learning.
➢ show respect for fellow students, teachers, and the school.
➢ participate actively and enthusiastically in class.
➢ respond positively to the challenges of language learning; this is important for maintaining a positive and friendly atmosphere in class at all times.

To do this, you must:
– attend classes.
– for online classes, participate with your video and audio turned on (unless you have obtained the teacher’s permission).
– arrive on time for all classes and return promptly from breaks.
– use the target language in class.
– be respectful and polite toward other students, understanding that everyone comes from different backgrounds and cultures and may often have different needs than your own.
– cooperate with other students.
– respect your teacher’s professional opinion regarding your level and progress, and follow their advice to improve more quickly.
– listen to other students and your teacher without interrupting.
– speak to your teacher first if you have any issues with the class or your learning.
– comply with all requests made by Vive SPANISH staff.

Online classes are recorded only at the student’s request. In-person classes cannot be recorded.

In the event of “force majeure”—such as fires, floods, pandemics, infectious diseases, or other events beyond our reasonable control that may cause the school to close—student fees will not be refunded, except at the school’s discretion in exceptional circumstances; in such cases, the school may consider compensating the student by offering private lessons.

Students are not insured by Vive SPANISH against illness, accident, theft, damage, or loss of personal belongings; therefore, the school cannot assume liability in such cases.
For further information, please read point 7 of our terms and conditions.

For beginner courses (A1), the start date may be postponed, subject to the schedule set by the school. All costs will be transferred to a later date.
For other levels (A2–C1), the start date may be postponed provided the school is notified at least 7 days before the course begins. All costs will be transferred to a later date.

PAYMENTS AND RETURNS

For more information regarding cancellations and refunds, please consult our General Terms and Conditions.

No, you must pay the full amount at the time of booking.

– All cancellations must be notified to Vive SPANISH in writing.
– For cancellations made up to one month before the course starts, Vive SPANISH will refund all fees paid, except for the registration fee (€60).
– If cancellation occurs two weeks (14 days) or less before the course starts, Vive SPANISH will not refund the course and/or accommodation fees. However, the student may use the purchased training hours at a later date, within one calendar year.
– For prepaid courses (annual fee of €5,100 or special discounted rates), if the student decides to withdraw, they must notify the school in writing, explaining the reasons. From that point on, the student may use the paid, unused hours within one academic year, starting from the date of the written notification. No monetary refunds are available in these cases.
– The school reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment and to transfer students to other courses. In the event of such a change, a full refund of fees will be issued—excluding registration and visa-related fees—if requested.

The only grounds for course cancellation are visa denial, provided the following procedure is followed:
1. The student submits the visa denial notice to the school.
2. The student appeals the decision; with the student’s permission, the school sends a letter of recommendation to the Embassy to assist the student in obtaining the visa.
3. If the Embassy denies the visa again after this step, the school will refund 80% of the course fee upon official confirmation of the denial (provided the course has already been paid for); however, the registration deposit and visa-related expenses will not be refunded.
If the student decides not to attend the school after receiving the student visa, no refund will be issued, and the school will report the situation to the Spanish Embassy.
No refund will be granted if the denial is based on “the submission of false documents or inaccurate statements in support of the application, or bad faith” (Art. 39.9 b) 2 of the Royal Decree) or other circumstances beyond the school’s control.

The only condition under which the course may be cancelled is visa denial, provided the following procedure is followed:
1. The student first submits the visa denial notice to the school.
2. The student appeals the decision; with the student’s permission, the school sends a letter of recommendation to the Embassy to assist the student in obtaining the visa.
3. If the Embassy denies the visa again after this step, the school will refund 90% of the course fee (minus the €60 registration fee and the €100 fee for the letter of invitation) upon official confirmation of the denial.
If the student fails to attend the school after receiving the student visa, no refund will be issued, and the school will also report the situation to the Spanish Embassy.
No refund will be granted if the denial is based on “the submission of false documents or inaccurate statements in support of the application, or the presence of bad faith” (Art. 39.9 b 2 of the Royal Decree), or due to other circumstances unrelated to the school.

If notification is given more than 24 hours in advance, the student does not lose the class. If notification is given less than 24 hours in advance, the class is forfeited and deducted from the total number of classes purchased.
All cancellations must be communicated via WhatsApp or email using the contact details provided on the website.
